The ICE CREAMS Lab??

Yes. That's right. We were almost the ICE CREAMS Lab (Improving Cognitive Efficacy - Causal Reasoning Education Augmenting Math and Science). An INSTRUCT Lab friend and colleague, Dr. Danny Oppenheimer, thought that ICE CREAMS Lab was the coolest name ever. Unfortunately, Michelle didn't agree -- so we chose another of his suggestions and became the INSTRUCT lab instead. However, the INSTRUCT labbers feel the loss as they would like to have regular servings of ice cream during lab meetings ...

Gotta Grab those Grants!

We've been lucky that several organizations have funded portions of the research conducted in our lab. Our funders have been The British Academy, the Economic and Social Research Council, the National Science Foundation, the Leverhulme Trust, and various small grants from VCU.
